Jenny Brandemuehl ’85 Chief People Officer, Chegg Inc.
She and her team helped the company go public in 2013 and scaled Chegg’s talent and culture to become the leading direct-to-student digital learning company in the U.S.
Prior to Chegg, Jenny served as Vice President of Global Talent Management at JDS Uniphase where she facilitated the leadership and talent transformation of the company during its shift from turnaround to growth. Jenny also led Strategic Change and Leadership Development for Gap Inc. Prior to Gap Inc., she ran Hewlett Packard's Organization Design practice as part of their Strategic Change Consulting Team. During her tenure, she co-led the company’s Work Innovation Network which successfully diffused high performing organizational practices throughout Hewlett Packard globally. Her work on the successful transformation of one of HP’s original business units was studied and published by UCLA and the State of California.
From 2014 to 2017, Jenny served on the Wellesley College Business Leadership Board as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee. From 2001 to 2006, she was a member of the Board of Directors for Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment (WISE), an Oakland based non-profit that trained and empowered low-income women to become successful entrepreneurs. During her time on the board, she co-founded the Silicon Valley chapter of WISE to bring their services to women in San Jose.
Jenny earned her B.A. from Wellesley College and an MHROD degree from the University of San Francisco. She enjoys skiing, Italian vacations and keeping up with her very active husband and two sons, one who is in college and another who just joined the working world.
