Helena de Bres received her PhD in Philosophy from MIT and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford Program on Global Justice.
She has been a Professor in the Wellesley Philosophy Department since 2008. Her research focuses on questions of distributive justice in global politics and international law, such as those that arise in relation to international trade, the global environment, labor standards, development and immigration. She is also interested in moral philosophy more generally, including the relationship between wellbeing, meaningfulness and morality in a life well lived. Professor de Bres teaches courses in global justice, political philosophy and ethics.
