Brian Tjaden is Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Wellesley College where he teaches courses on algorithms, computational biology and bioinformatics.
His research focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms with applications in genomics and molecular biology. Using high-throughput DNA sequencing technology to generate massive nucleic acid data sets, he works closely with biologists, statisticians, and physicians to extract new biomedical insights from the wealth of genomic data. Previously, he worked at the Institute for Systems Biology, Intel Corporation, and Harvard University. His research is funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
