Welcome to The Spoke’s soundbites series. In this inaugural episode, Julie Walsh and Cord Whitaker of The Spoke tackle the question “Are computers destroying the world?” From cash registers to ATMs to gas stations, our reliance on computer technology to deliver everyday necessities is everywhere. As artificial intelligence technologies advance, computers are doing ever more complex jobs and replacing ever more highly skilled workers. But what happens when the computers break down?
