Verlaine Bergeret ’25

Verlaine Bergeret
Verlaine is a senior majoring in Chemistry and East Asian Language and Culture with a concentration in Chinese.

Over the summer, Verlaine worked in a chemical engineering lab at MIT, where she worked on developing a particle tracking technique to analyze bacterial motility in mucus membranes. She also has experience in organic synthesis from her work  in a chemistry lab at MIT.  Outside of her research, Verlaine is involved in a program mentoring Japanese students, and is a member of Aiko, the Japanese drumming organization. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a PhD in chemical engineering focusing on biomimicry and contaminant remediation in the environment.
