Curtis is known for works such as Stella: A Novel of the Haitian Revolution (NYU Press, 2015) and Fanny Reybaud’s Quatre Nouvelles Antillaises (L’Harmattan, 2014). A women’s health advocate, she is also the co-founder, with Ben Utter, of Vital: A Health Humanities Magazine. She is owner and principal consultant at Sagely, a strategic communications firm.
