Summer 2022 MIT UROPs

Students wishing to enroll in a summer UROP for credit may do so using the cross-registration system by bringing a completed UROP cross-registration form to both the Wellesley and MIT Registrar’s offices. Students must be cross-registered at MIT by Monday, June 6, 2021 at 5pm ET. Cross-registered students then must complete the UROP online application by Thursday, June 21, 2021 at 11:59pm ET. For Summer 2022, Wellesley students will not be required to pay the Wellesley Summer Session tuition for a one-unit course.

COVID-19 Protocols regarding cross-registration

Cross-Registration at MIT

If you are planning to cross-register for an MIT course in the fall 2021 semester please note MIT’s detailed instructions for Wellesley students available on the MIT Registrar’s website. MIT requires that Wellesley students follow the same COVID protocols as are required of MIT students. This will include:

  • Upload proof of vaccination: Upon registering, MIT requires Wellesley students to provide proof of COVID vaccination through the COVID Pass system (MIT’s in-house COVID monitoring system).

  • Obtain an MIT ID for building swipe access: Wellesley students must get an MIT ID card and sign-up for an MIT computing account (Kerberos account) because they will need the ID card to swipe into buildings and they’ll need the Kerberos account to upload proof of vaccination.

  • 2 times per week COVID testing for MIT through the COVID Pass system.

Email covidapps-help@mit.edu with questions or technical issues about the COVID Pass system.

Students will still need to complete their required COVID testing at Wellesley.

Cross-Registration at Babson, Brandeis and Olin:

Wellesley students must be vaccinated to cross-register at Babson, Brandeis and Olin. However, the vaccination documentation that each student provided here at Wellesley is sufficient for cross-registration at Babson, Olin and Brandeis and does not need to be provided again as part of the cross-registration process. Unvaccinated students who wish to cross-register should contact Dean Michael Jeffries (mjeffrie@wellesley.edu).

Information about Cross-Registration Process:

For Students: Notifying Faculty about a missed class due to Religious Holiday Observance

Students use the Religious Observance Notification Form to inform faculty that they will be missing class during religious holidays. This form does not take the place of students following up with their instructors to make arrangements for any work they may miss during their observance. The student notification form deadline for the Fall 2021 semester is Tuesday, September 7th. Please fill out the form and speak with each instructor in advance of any missed class. For more on Wellesley College’s religious observance policy and the multifaith religious observance calendar, visit ORSL’s website. For questions or concerns, please contact Dean Jackie Marquez in the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at jm100@wellesley.edu.

Academic Year 2021-2022 Cross-Registration Policy

The Registrar is highlighting these changes to the Cross-Registration policies:

Each fall and spring semester, enrolled students may register for one credit-bearing course per semester at Babson, Brandeis, MIT or Olin. Cross-registration is not available during Winter and Summer.

Follow the link to the complete 2021-2022 Cross-Registration Policy.

MIT UROPs

Each fall and spring semester, a student may register for no more than 2 separate UROP opportunities for credit, pay and volunteer. Each summer semester, a student may register for no more than 1 UROP opportunity for credit, pay and volunteer. Each winter period a student may register for no more than 1 UROP opportunity for pay and volunteer.
