Video e-Reserves

Video E-Reserves

What Videos are Eligible?

Only videos that are *owned by the Wellesley College Libraries* can be digitized for video e-reserves. If you need a video for course reserves that the library does not own, please use the Suggest a Purchase form and indicate that the item is for Reserves and should be digitized.

Requesting Videos

Use the library's Video E-Reserves Request Form. Please indicate the date each film should be available for use by your students. Requests submitted without dates will be processed whenever possible in the order in which they are received. If a video you wish to use is not yet part of the Library's collection, please use the Suggest a Purchase form and indicate that the item is needed for Reserves and should be digitized.

Accessing Videos

Kaltura is our system for streaming video e-reserves content. This system appears as the Media Gallery tool in your course sites. In Sakai videos are available in the Site Library, and faculty can also organize content into Collections. In Google Sites the Media Gallery page contains a link to the playlist for the course. You can find more information on adding videos to a site and using the Media Gallery on our Sakai Media Gallery and Google Video E-Reserves pages.

Reusing Videos

Please submit the list of films you would like to use via the Video E-Reserves Request Form and include call numbers and dates for each film. If you need assistance in identifying films used in previous semesters, please contact videoereserves@wellesley.edu.

Questions About a Submitted Request?

Faculty will receive an email notification when their requested videos are available. To check on the status of a request, call the Instructional Technology Help Line for faculty- x4848 or email videoereserves@wellesley.edu. Please note that, due to volume, it may take several days to process requests, *especially at the start of each semester*.
