Lillie Stewart ’26

Lillie Stewart
Lillie Stewart is a junior majoring in economics interested in understanding how social inequality and environmental problems affect health and community outcomes.

Her coursework examines how governance can serve as a solution or a detriment to creating a more equitable society. Lillie spent last summer coordinating outdoor trips for teenagers in the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve on the Oregon Coast where she acted as a Wilderness First Responder and lifeguard. Outside of class time, Lillie volunteers as a facilitator for children’s peer support groups in the Boston area and is engaged with rock climbing and solo music (voice and fiddle) on campus. Last spring she co-developed digital wellbeing workshops on mental health, body image, and LGBTQ+ identity for middle school students with the Youth, Media & Wellbeing Research Lab. Lillie looks forward to continuing her work with the lab next semester. In the coming years, she hopes to weave her interests in social wellbeing, climate resilience, and the outdoors to study medicine and its applications to resource-limited environments.
