Katie Michels Program Director
As Program Director at The Albright Institute, Katie collaborates closely with the Faculty Director, Albright Ambassadors, and leadership of the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World to shape and implement the Institute’s strategic priorities.
With a background in program management, cross-cultural exchange, and business development, Katie has built her career in facilitating interventions that support the professional and personal growth opportunities for others, especially in global education. Before joining The Albright Institute, she served as Director of Programs at Start.coop, where she designed and led Accelerator and Incubator programs for social impact entrepreneurs. Previously, as Program Director at The Saltire Foundation (Scotland), she led a team delivering three internationally education programs: the Saltire Scholar International Internship Program (in partnership with 14 Scottish universities, facilitating 150+ international internships annually), the Saltire Fellowship (a six-month experiential learning program in partnership with Babson College), and an Alumni Program. Additionally, while working on the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, she practiced citizen diplomacy by designing tailored programs for over 200 emerging leaders from 60 countries through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
Katie holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cape Town (South Africa), an MSc in Tourism from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), and a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
