Sabine Franklin, a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Africana Studies at Wellesley College discusses how efforts to combat disease and provide disaster relief around the world have been influenced by colonialist history and how the inclusion of a diversity of perspectives and experiences could increase the success of humanitarian efforts in the future.
