On campus she combines her interest in environmental justice and social justice as a student Ambassador for the Frost Center for the Environment. Laila is a Spirituality Chair for Wellesley’s Al-Muslimat to facilitate discussions of understanding and growth among the college’s Muslim students and their allies. She also volunteers on the board of her local masjid to aid with programming and making institutionally sound and sustainable decisions. With a working knowledge of Spanish and a progressing level of Arabic, Laila is excited to strengthen her language skills as a vessel of intercultural exchange and environmental advocacy. In addition to non-profit and legal work, she plans to explore teaching as a way to connect with global communities and inspire change.
