Dr. Delaram Farzaneh, S.J.D., is a human rights scholar and lawyer from Iran.
Currently she is an adjunct law professor at Golden Gate University School of Law and a Visiting Scholar at UC Davis School of Law. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Law in Iran and after coming to the United States, she received her first LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Comparative Law, and a second LL.M. and Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) degrees in International Legal Studies. She continued her scholarship at the NYU School of Law’s Center for Human Rights and Global Justice where her first scholarly book was published. Her book, Judgeships in Iran: Step down You Are a Woman: A Legal Analysis of International Human Rights, is a comprehensive analysis of the role of gender within the legal and political system in Iran that results in widespread discriminatory practices against women. Passionate about the rule of law and human rights, she has published numerous articles that analyze issues surrounding women and international human rights.
