She recently completed a gap year in Europe, where she spent time cementing her language skills, first in Italy through the VoluntarItaly cultural exchange program, and then during nine months in Spain. She also used this time as an opportunity to conduct research in a chemistry laboratory at the University of Alcalá in Madrid. At Wellesley she has participated in the Freedom Project and the Italian Society, and also explored engineering options at Wellesley through cross-registration with MIT. She hopes to expand her understanding of French and Arabic, and to further explore the complicated dynamics of the European Union during a crucial period in its young history.
