Ayyaz Kiani Co-founder, Doctory
A public health expert with more than 35 years of experience mostly in TB, HIV/AIDS, malaria as well as mother and child health, Ayyaz Gul has a deep political and organizational understanding of Pakistan’s public health system. He has established working relationships with key stakeholders in Pakistan including senior officials in the federal and provincial health ministries, civil society, and donors. Ayyaz maintains an international perspective of the public health sector around the world while working as an editor of the well reputed Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, published from Oxford, UK by BioMed Central.
Ayyaz is a Master of Community Health from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK, a blogger and a regular op-ed contributor in daily DAWN. Some of his distinctions include serving the Chief Justice of Pakistan as amicus curie in a land mark public health case; translating a book in his dying mother tongue Pothohari; representing Pakistan in World Health Assembly in 1998; and successfully leading campaigns for enactment of people friendly laws including those for consumer protection, tobacco control and young child nutrition.
